Yoga, Tantra and associated TrainingOne of our objectives is to offer the most accessible and enlightening Yoga and Tantra teachings available in the southern hemisphere. And to this end we will be runnings classes and workshops highlighting the sometimes radical and unusual forms of practice and devotion within these systems. As we have already mentioned we judge no one system to be above another, just that some things fit for one and not for another...the choice is always yours. Q: What defines the difference between Tantra and Yoga? Meaning that you can make anything fit if you want it to you just have to justify it. And this is the start of a quest to find what is out there and what can work for you. Generally speaking the teachings of Yoga come from scripture such as the Vedas, Upanishads Sutras of Patanjali, and the teachings of Tantra come from the Agamas and Tantras and more esoteric sources(scriptures in their own right). Most of these documents date back 5,000 years or possibly more with the Tantras being much younger somewhere within the common era ie 2,000 years. |
